The 2009 Mercury Mariner has been completely updated for 2009.

The 2009 Mariner is a 4-door, 5-passenger sport-utility, available in 8 trims, ranging from the I4 4X2 to the Premier V6 4X4. 

The I4 4X2 is equipped with a standard 2.5-liter, 171-horsepower engine. The Premier V6 4X4 is equipped with a standard 3.0-liter, V6, 240-horsepower engine.

Power, heated mirrors defrost ice and snow so you don’t have to scrape it off in the cold.  A roof rack carries everything from cargo and kayaks to mountain bikes and skis.  The reverse sensing system makes parallel parking a breeze.  The system uses an audible alert to signal you when certain objects are behind the vehicle.  Automatic headlights go on automatically when the sun goes down.

Advancetrac With Roll Stability Control This feature automatically applies the brakes and modifies engine power to help maintain control whenever it detects wheelslip, understeer or oversteer. It also helps maintain more control in adverse road conditions such as ice, gravel or rain.

Intelligent 4-Wheel DriveWhether the road is filled with gravel, covered with ice or soaked by rain, the available Intelligent 4-Wheel-Drive System (4WD) helps provide more sure-footed traction. Because 4WD is fully automatic, it instantly delivers traction to the wheels needing it the most when wheelslip is detected. Optional on all Mariner models.
